Michael's thirteen days away are finally revealed. He was captured by "the Others" shortly after setting out to find Walt. One of them, a woman who called herself Miss Klugh, questioned him about Walt for a week. Michael is briefly reunited with Walt, who cautions Michael that the others are not who they say they are. Miss Klugh then offered to set Walt free if Michael would first go back and free "Henry" and return with Hurley, Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. Michael agreed.

Back at the hatch, Michael attempts to convince those four individuals that they should lead an attack on the Others without anyone else. Sayid suspects that Michael has been "compromised" by the Others.

Eko has taken over the reset button and tells Charlie he is no longer working on building a church. Charlie is upset by this but does begin a reconciliation with Claire.

During the funeral for Libby and Ana-Lucia, Sun sees and points out a boat in the ocean. Noticing her, all the other survivors of Flight 815 turn around to see the small sailboat floating in the distance.
